The quest of this blog is to promote the magical girl, shoujo, and female-centric anime I love. I’m not aware of any other anime blogs with such a girly focus. After much experimentation, I settled on the primarily visual style of anime blogging you find here. With a fixed canvas size, I arrange screenshots and text to convey the essence of the episode.
My anime blogging has been through a number of forms before reaching this one. The very first was actually a spiral notebook in which I jotted down a couple lines about each episode I watched. Before too long I discovered online anime blogs and emulated their formats. That version was hosted on GreatestJournal and when GreatestJournal began to die, I jumped ship to another host and another format. I found recapping the events of an episode, struggling to remember character names, and adding commentary sucked the joy out of watching anime. My third anime journal, on LiveJournal, moved to the visual format you see today. After a few years and 800+ images, I decided I wanted to make a more mature website out of my work and moved to WordPress.
